Importer - Various changes relating to date & time import. E4000004 - 20 Feb 2000
Updated 09 February 2001.
Various changes have been made to the way dates and times are imported:
-
It is now possible to specify the separator used between hours, minutes and
seconds, and a decimal point character for hundredths of seconds. (IMPPOST will
successfully import times without seconds and hundredths of seconds without
your having to specify what parts of the time are present). Previously
":" and
"." were hard coded into IMPPOST.
-
When importing dates and times IMPPOST no longer requires the separator to be
present, if one is specified. Previously if no separator was present where
IMPPOST was expecting one a date such as 270199 would be rejected because it
was not broken up into its three consituent parts.
This version also fixes some minor bugs in the "move" option.
-
Previously the Yes and No words for Boolean fields were not exported so that
transferring an import parameter set these words to the value set for the
field on the database.
-
Previously a spurious warning message about field lengths was generated when
posting a .IMP files for undelimited import parameter sets.
- 9 February 2001 Dates and Time fields set to default to the System Clock
were not transferred correctly. This was a problem with posting, not with the .IMP
file created.
19 July 2000 The latest version includes a fix for a GPF which occurred when importing a .IMP file onto a database missing some of the fields used by the parameter set. This caused a GPF on Windows NT, though not on Windows 95 or Windows 98 (probably because of a weakness in the memory protection of these operating systems). This bug, and the ones mentioned above have been present in all 4.5xx and 4.6xx DP4 releases.
9 February 2001 This version fixes a problem with setting up date format information. Since release 4.519/4.614 fields that used days since base date format and fields that were always assigned a default value could not be set up properly, as entry fields in the date format dialog were disabled inappropriately.
DP4 Version Compatibility
4.617, or 4.616 if you update your system database by posting the IMPSETUP.PRN
file to your system database using MAPPOST.
