Easier deployment of database collate sequences changes - E4000009 - 9th Jun 2000

The collate program allows you to set up a collate sequence for type M or U fields so that character data can be collated appropriately for the national language. Until now there was no easy way to make changes to the collate sequence in a system that had already been deployed. The only possibility was to create a Redirect file for the collate program.

Several new options have been added :

• You can export the collate table from a database as a .col file either interactively or via a -export command tail
• You can import the collate table from a previously created .col file either interactively or via a -import command tail
• You can reset a database to use the standard collate sequence with the -standard command fail
