As of release 4.622 DP4 bitmap controls can display images in several different formats:
Support for additional filetypes will be added if we can find a suitable Windows API.
On Windows CE only BMP format is supported (but you can use ICO format files in Icon controls)
In addition MapEdit no longer does its own image loading, but uses the DP4 terminal manager to load images. Therefore images will appear the same at load and run time. Refer to the updated MapEdit documentation for details.
In addition PROGMAKE no longer restricts the length of type G fields to 8 characters, which is useful when displaying images held in external files. You can now specify any length up to 255 for a G field. You should specify a length that is enough for the longest filename you plan to display.
