This page contains the latest patch releases of DP4 networking components for Windows 9x and NT family operating systems. These versions incorporate all previous bug fixes (as described on K4000026) and the following bugs:
27 Oct 2003 With AUXDISTR loaded a fetch on the @network table for table 0 (the default layout) could return incorrect data. Although this did not affect where data was read from directly it is possible that an application might post back a modified version of this record and thereby unintentionally alter the network layout. This incorrect read would happen whenever the @network table for table 0 was read immediately after an operation on a table that did not use the default layout.
Using the ONLINE program could cause AUXDISTR to set the server that had been put back online offline for programs that were already running.
The -NOFAIL option of AUXDISTR did not work - after a network break was restored if there was a pending transaction for the restored server AUXDISTR posted it incorrectly causing the affected server to become permanently broken!.
In certain circumstances TCPMGR could close a previously closed socket again. Although harmless most of the time if the same handle had been allocated to a socket on another connection then that connection would be broken.
The AUXDISTR bugs are also present in other operating versions of DP4. The TCPMGR bug is confined to the Windows and Windows CE versions.
Where the version affected is given as 4.5xx or 4.6xx, all versions of DP4 issued prior to the date of the fix are potentially affected. Where a specific version number is given the problem was introduced by that release and prior releases are unaffected. If a patch release number is also specified (in parentheses) , the fault was introduced at that specific patch level.
