Entries within each section are described in alphabetical rather than logical order.

Entry=default_value
The first line shows the the name(s) of the section(s) under consideration. Any information on the versions of DP4 the entry is applicable to is given beneath the entry this, followed by a description of the meaning of the various possible values for the entry.
The default value is the value assigned if no value is given for the entry in the DP4 configuration file, which is not necessarily the value specified in the the DP4 configuration file issued with the DP4 CD ROM. When new features are added to DP4 that are controled by entries in the DP4 configuration file the default value is usually chosen to maintain maximum compatibility with earlier releases, whereas the issued the DP4 configuration file will turn on the new feature.
Some of the sections described in this document may contain entries that are not documented here. These entries concern features that are not yet implemented. You are advised not to delete them or change their contents.
