New in 4.623

• 21 May 2008 Setting hide_dead_chrome added.
• 28 Nov 2007 Settings first_day and touch_calendar added. Information about previously undocumented settings checkbox_height and checkbox_widthadded. Information about x_factor and y_factor updated.
• 8 Jun 2006 Setting dfprint_clip added.
• 17 May 2006 Setting monitor added.
• 14 Apr 2005 Setting hide_empty_buttons added.

• 17 Jan 2006 Setting defer_bug added.
• 14 Apr 2005 Setting button_text_centred added.
• 21 Mar 2005 Meaning of setting debug_echo has changed. (See Diagnostics for more details about changes to error logging in this release).
• 27 Jan 2005 Setting catch_exceptions added.
• 26 Jan 2005 Setting shutdowndelay was incorrectly documented as shutdown_delay, but only the first form currently works (except on DP4 for Linux).
• 19 Jan 2005 New setting no_scroll_bars.
• 17 Jan 2005 New setting for Windows CE no_auto_close.
• The configuration options for controlling disk buffering are different in release 4.622. See the updated information in [buffers].

New in 4.621

• 31 Mar 2004 Now includes some information on the new 4.525 release of DP4 for Unix/Linux. See the UNIX section for details of Unix/Linux specific entries.

• 23 Mar 2004 It is now possible to change the device names used by DP4 for printing to MS-DOS style devices. See Device Names for details.

• 11 Feb 2004 The DP4 Installer, and associated utilities now write some information into the [install] section. This is for internal purposes only, and no documentation is available on the entries as yet.

• 25 Nov 2003 New keep_awake setting added to enable control of Windows CE auto-suspend feature.

• 21 Nov 2003 New max_programs setting added.

• 15 Oct 2003 Information added on controlling skinning within DFPRINT via new [DFPRINT] section.

• 4 Oct 2003 Updated to include information about all aspects of DP4 Configuration, and not just the DP4 Configuration file itself. See Configuration Utilities. Also documented new service_description setting.

• 14 Apr 2003 The new use_viewer and viewer settings allow you to change the way DP4 sends print output to the screen.

• 10 Apr 2003 The new refresh_interval setting allows you to limit the frequency of comfort output from programs like DBCHECK and REORGDB, potentially speeding them up.

• 4 Apr 2003 There are several new settings that allow you to configure various aspects of the appearance of DP4 programs:
  
  
  • A new buttonstyle value
  • flatten_dialog
  • shadow_title
  • vertical_gradient
  • DP4 now supports skinning. This is discussed in Skinning DP4.

• 17 Feb 2003 More information for icon_visible setting.

• 29 Jan 2003 Page added for new show_im setting for Windows CE.

Beta 4

• 06 Dec 2002 Pages added for new use_workarea setting. This affects several other pages. See also the Default Window Size and Position. Information about useframe on Windows CE added.

• 03 Dec 2002 The contents page, and the home page have been changed to simplify navigating the guide, and some summary information is added in a few places for the same reason. Various pages added or updated to describe new options for 4.620:

  • Limiting an application to a single instance using run_once=1 setting
  • Controlling and Disabling DP4 error messages with the [dp4_error] section.
  • Translation for some messages hard coded into terminal manager with string_nn settings.
  • Changing the size of an application's fonts using x_inch and y_inch
  • Removal of interaction between x_factor,y_factor and the DFPRINT program, and using new dfprint_x_factor etc. settings.

  The information in the Coordinate System background article has also been updated.

• 13 Nov 2002 Some documentation about encrypted entries in the DP4 Configuration file added to How the DP4 configuration file is organised

• 17 Oct 2002 This What's New page added

• 15 Oct 2002 onconnect=command line option added to [tcpmgr] section to enable running a "reverse" connection from a DP4 Server.

• 30 Aug 2002 save_position=0 facility added to prevent updating of configuration file by terminal manager.

Beta 2

• 26 Apr 2002 A new page bringing together information on how to configure DP4 error logging/diagnostics is added.

• 23 Apr 2002 Updates for Windows CE version of DP4, and more information on new DP4 Enterprise features (See the WinCE and Startup sections). A new section on Security has been added.

• 22nd Feb 2002 Information relating to DP4 Enterprise added including new [branding] and [buffers] sections.

New in 4.523/4.619

28 Nov 2001 (4.523/4.619(3) The information relating to SQL Products has been updated to describe new options in the light of recent changes to the Gateway ADCs.

May - July 2001 The information relating to SQL Products has been updated to describe new options for version 4.523, (mainly for the Gateway ADCs)and also previously ondocumented options for ODBC have been added. Refer to the various pages linked to from the [ODBC], [ORACLE], [AUXWODBC], and [SQL] pages.
