If set to 1 the SQL Engine passes requests it receives direct to the DP4 System, which must therefore be running as a simple network client. The request is then passed across the network to the DP4 network receiver, which must be the TCPSQLM program rather than the regular TCPMGR. This allows SQL commands to be executed server side, which reduces the network traffic.
