Table and field headings consist of 4 lines of text, 16 characters wide. The DP4 Data Entry and Enquiry, Report Writer and Automatic Program Generation utilities use the headings for generating maps, and they are also used in programs such as BROWSER and AUDITOR.
You already set up headings for all your tables and fields when you create the table in the first place. The Headings option in MAKEDB is provided for two main reasons:
To add headings in other languages, follow the instructions in Supporting National Languages.
On the Database Structure Management menu, select the Create/modify database option and select the database
On the Database Creation/Changes menu, select Option 1 - Headings
Enter the language number. Unless you are developing a multi-language application, set the language number to 0
Enter the table name, or press <Ctrl+P> to pop up a list
of tables on the database. The Table/Field Headings menu
appears:

Select option 1 - Table heading. Enter the new table heading, and press <Enter> to complete the entry
On the Table/Field Headings menu, select option 2 - Field headings. A popup list of fields in the table appears. Use the cursor keys to move through the list. Highlight the field you wish to edit, and press the <Enter> key, and enter the new field heading.
Repeat the last step as often as requiredEnter the new field heading, and press <Enter> to complete the entry (SAA users press <Tab>)
When you complete the changes, press <Esc> several times to return to the DP4 System Main menu
