Changing the Record Search Index

DP4 shows the records in the sequence determined by the key of the table.

This search sequence is called the Main Index. To change the sequence, follow these instructions:

1. Select the Index option on the menu bar. DP4 displays the list of available indexes:
   

2. Use the cursor keys to highlight the new search index, and press <Enter>. DP4 displays the selected search index underneath the table name

3. Select the Scan option. Using the cursor keys to move through the records, notice that the records are displayed in the sequence determined by the new search index

4. Press <Esc> to return to the menu bar
