Changing the System Language

This section tells you how to change the language for a system. All utility and application programs run from the command line will use the maps in the selected language.

  1. At the command line, run the DP4 System Setup utility: DFSETUP
The System Setup menu is displayed

  2. Select option 3 - User Preferences. The User Preferences menu is displayed

  3. Select option 3 - Colours and miscellaneous. The Colours and Miscellaneous screen is displayed. The first field in this screen specifies the default language number

  4. Enter the number of the new default language. If you choose a language other than 0 and some maps are missing, DP4 will display the language 0 equivalents

  5. Press <Enter> or <Tab> to complete the dialog. The User Preferences menu is redisplayed. You may also wish to select the default language preferences, as described in Selecting the Language Preferences

  6. Select option 8 - Exit. On the Save/Exit menu, select option 1 - Save changes. The changes are saved to the user configuration file userdata.sys. You are returned to the DP4 System Setup Main menu. Select option 8 - Exit to leave the System Setup program

All applications run on the system are automatically displayed in the selected language.

The system default only applies to programs run from the command line. It does not apply to menus and application programs with user logon, because those programs will use the user's language.
