Changing the System Language Preferences

Changes to the system language preferences are stored in the User file USERDATA.SYS. Any program that is run from the command line (without the logon facility) uses these language preferences.

  1. Run the DP4 System Setup utility from the command line by entering the command:
    DFSETUP

  2. On the DP4 System Setup menu, select option 3 - User preferences. The User Preferences menu is displayed

  3. Select option 1 - Date and time input/display. The Date and Time input/display screen is displayed. This screen is described in Changing a User's Preferences. The language-dependent questions are:

    When you complete the changes, the User Preferences menu is redisplayed

  4. Select option 2 - Number/character/menu input/display. The Number, character and menu input/output preferences screen is displayed. This screen is described in Changing a User's Preferences. The language-dependent questions are:

    When you complete the changes, the User Preferences menu is redisplayed

  5. Select option 3 - Colours and miscellaneous. The Colours and Miscellaneous screen is displayed. This screen is described in Changing a User's Preferences.

  6. Enter the 'Default language' number and click the OK button to exit

  7. On the User Preferences menu, select option 8 - Exit

  8. On the Save/Abandon menu, select option 1 - Save changes

  9. To exit the System setup utility, select option 8 - Exit on the main menu. You are returned to the operating system
