This section describes how to copy and paste text using the block edit feature in the DP4 text editor:
Use the cursor keys or the mouse to move the cursor to the first character in the block.
Press <Ctrl+K> to switch block mode on. There are two ways to block an area: line select mode and column select mode.
Column select mode allows you to block a box-shaped area in the file.
You can press <Ctrl+]> while you are in block mode to toggle between Line Select and Column Select mode, or enter Column mode from Box drawing mode by pressing <Ctrl+K>.
Column select mode is especially useful if you want to move a table in the Table Planner, and the following trick will allow you quickly to select the entire table:
Press <Ctrl+K> to switch to column mode.
Use the cursor keys or mouse to size the block.
You now have two options:
To copy the marked block to the buffer, use <Ctrl+K>.
Move the cursor to where you want to insert the block.
Press <Ctrl+L> to paste the block into the text file.
If you have finished copying and pasting, press the <Esc> key to switch off block selection mode.
