This section tells you how to set up a menu that is displayed when the user logs onto the DP4 system. The DP4 Menu editing utility lets you set up pop-up menus that can have several pages.
If you wish to create pull-down menus, refer to the DP4 Map Editor User Guide.
There are two types of menu that you can provide with your system:
An application menu provides access to the programs you have developed for the application. This menu is stored on the application database.
You can provide access to any DP4 utilities that apply to the application. You can also include standard menu commands such as the LOCKUP facility that locks up the system until the user returns.
A system menu gives the system manager access to the database management utilities. This menu is stored on the system database and is independent of the application programs.
The DP4 System menu provides access to the utilities, but it is designed for developers rather than end users. You can copy and modify the system menu to create a menu with all the facilities required by the system manager on the customer site.
