Specifying the Lower to Upper Case Conversion

  1. From a command prompt, or the "Run Program" option in the DP4 menu, start the Collate utility with this command:

    COLLATE

    The Collate utility menu is displayed

  2. Select option 1 - Lower to upper case translation. The Translation Table is displayed:

  3. Use the cursor keys to move between the pairs of characters. Press <Enter> to select a character pair to amend. DP4 prompts you to enter the ASCII value of the new upper case translation character

  4. Enter the hexadecimal value, for example:

    Enter translated character: Lower case value E2h Upper case value C2h

    and press <Enter>. The upper-case character is displayed next to the lower-case character.

  5. Complete the changes, and then press <Esc>. The changes are stored in the key translation table in the configuration file USERDATA.SYS. This table is always preserved when you run USERDATA again, unless you specify the -reset option.

  6. You are returned to the Collate Utility Main menu. Select option 8 - Exit to terminate the utility.
