The utility files are temporary files that are created by the database manager and the user interface manager. They are stored in the Work files directory, unless otherwise stated:

Store files contain a private cache of data for use by the database manager and the user interface manager |

Spooler files are used for print spooling, and are kept in the spooler files directory |

Print files are used as a temporary store for print lines |

MAPSxxxx.$$$ |
Map files may be created by the user interface manager to store details of information displayed on screen |
