The map editor helps you to manage the maps on your database. You can use the map editor to review the organisation of the maps, and add, copy and delete maps.
The map editor, or an associated utility called MAPMAKE (in 4.6xx), provides several additional facilities:
This option lets you export the maps to a text file. You can use the maps in the production of user documentation. You can also edit the maps using your favourite word processor or editor, and post the maps back to the database when you have finished
You can print out your maps to a text file or printer in a format useful for producing documents such as user manuals
You may have more than one copy of a database during the development process. You can ask the map editor to print out all the maps that differ between the two versions of a database. This can be very useful when you need to translate maps into several languages.
