Add Tabs Dialog

Using the Add Tabs Dialog provides an easy way to create the basis of the set of maps needed to implement a Tabbed Dialog (like the ones used by MAPEDIT itself). This dialog will add a number of Tab Controls and optionally create the additional maps needed for the various pages.

The best way to use this dialog is as follows:

  1. Begin creating a new map as described in "Creating a New Map".

  2. Use the map's sizing handles to size the map appropriately.

  3. Create a static control that fills the area where the pages will be displayed. You need to leave room above the control for the Tab Buttons, and room below for an OK and Cancel button (if these will be required).

  4. Give the control a 3D border and set its colour to 'Inverted Data map'

  5. Save the map. If necessary use Save Copy As and then open the saved copy so that the map number is correct. You should use a map number whether the next few map numbers have not been used yet so that the maps for each Tab can be created.

  6. Make sure the control that will be the Tab Frame is still selected, and then select the Add Tabs option from the Options menu.

  7. Select the required number of Tabs, and adjust the size of the Tabs if required. There is no need to adjust the Tab Frames option, because the Tab Frame is the selected control. Check the Add Maps option.

  8. Click OK to create the Tabs.

Currently you will still need to use the Control and Map Property dialogs to set up colour schemes and Function keys. See "Using Tabs" for more information.
