You can add a control to the map in either of two ways:
Using the Tool box, as described here. Double-clicking a tool adds the corresponding control to the top-left corner of the current map. Single-clicking a tool makes a cross-hair cursor appear when you move the pointer over a map. Position the cross-hair where you want the control, then either click to add the control at its default size or drag the mouse to add the control, sizing it yourself.
Once you have added a control this way, the Map Editor reselects the pick tool in the Tool box. If you wish to keep the current icon highlighted to add more controls of the same type, press the <Shift> key when selecting the tool.
Or
By selecting the appropriate control command from the Controls menu. The selected control appears in the top left corner of the current map.
You can customise the initial size of controls. Refer to Configuration if you need details.
After adding a control you will usually want to invoke its property dialog to edit its properties. Controls may not behave in the way you intend until you have defined the Map Properties.
If you want to add a number of similar controls to a map you will probably save time by using the Copy and Paste facility.
