The grid and align features provide methods for quickly and easily aligning controls in your map. You can display the grid while you are creating the map so that controls are positioned exactly where you want them with respect to other controls.
To specify the grid options:
Select Grid from the Options menu. The Grid attributes dialog appears.
Its options are as follows:
| Width |
specifies the spacing in pixels or DP4 units between the horizontal grid points. |
| Height |
specifies the spacing in pixels or DP4 units between the vertical grid points. |
| Show grid |
displays the grid in the current map. The grid points are drawn over the map background. |
| Snap to grid |
when controls are moved or sized the part being moved or sized is aligned on a grid point. |
| Make global default |
if checked applies your grid settings to any further maps opened in the current session and saves the new settings to MAPEDIT.INI. |
