An configuration file, MAPEDIT.INI, is located in the same directory as the DP4 configuration file (usually the same directory as the directory for DP4 executables in 4.620, and the Windows directory in earlier releases) . The general format of the MAPEDIT.INI file is as follows:
Defaults section - specifies the default values for the Map Editor. This section starts with the [Defaults] keyword and can hold a number of configuration options./P>
User sections - there may be many of these allowing you to customise the behaviour of the Map Editor for particular users. This section starts with the [username] keyword, for example [fred]. To run the Map Editor assigning the defaults for a user you append the -USER command tail when loading the Map Editor, as in:
mapedit -user fred
You may use the same configuration options as in the [Defaults] section. Options in the user section override any setup in the Defaults section
You can change most (useful) MAPEDIT.INI settings from within the Edit Options dialog, accessed from the Options menu.
