When you have added a control to the map, you can edit its properties. Every control has a dialog for editing its properties. Because most controls have many properties, they are grouped into various property pages. All controls have a General property page, which allows you to specify the most important properties of the control, including its field number, whether it is shared, its size, the appearance of its border and so on. To activate the dialog for setting the properties of a control, do one of the following:
Double-click the control
With the control selected, press F5 or Enter
With the control selected, click the Control icon
on
the Tool bar
With the control selected choose Control Properties from the Edit menu.
If it is not easy to select the control with the mouse (for example because it is covered by another control) choose Control List from the Edit menu. The Control List dialog appears:

This lists the controls and their field numbers. Select the desired control from the list (if it is not already highlighted) and click Edit
