Editing DP4 Menu Pages

The Map Editor contains options for editing the maps used the DP4 menu program (DP4 itself). These options also allow you to edit the other information associated with the menu, notably the commands executed by the options in the menu, and, for options that require them, secondary maps used for requesting values for parameters in the command.

Usually you will probably use the DP4 menu page options via the MENUEDIT program which contains a number of other facilities you will need to set up a proper DP4 menu, but this is not actually necessary except when you need the additional facilities.

In order to edit DP4 menu pages directly from the Map Editor you first need to use the Open DP4 Menu Pages option. This opens a dialog similar to the Open Mapset dialog, and allows you to select the database and language for which the menu pages are to be edited, and to choose the page to select initially. After you complete the dialog a window similar to the mapset window containing all the menu pages is opened:

Note that the toolbox is slightly different from normal. It is explained here.

In general editing a DP4 Menu Page is just like editing any other map. The major difference is that the Control Property Dialogs are slightly different:

There are also options to copy and delete one or all menu pages. These work just like the corresponding options for copying maps and mapsets. The only difference is that the menu option information associated with the maps for the menu pages is also copied or deleted.
