Formatting Pause Fields

Pause fields are rarely used, as most GUI programs will use buttons instead. A pause field is usually an edit control without a border contained in a error message type map. The control waits for input from the user, but the input is not echoed into the control. The purpose of a pause field is to force the user to acknowledge the message before continuing. The Data dialog for pause fields contains the following fields:

Use default values

Enable this to accept the behaviour defined in the user preferences for pause fields. If this chexbox is cleared you must select one of the following two options.

Allow 'Press any key'

Enable this allow to allow the user to acknowledge the pause field by pressing any key.

Designated key

Enable this to force the user to press the key specified for pause fields in the user preferences.
