A device type can potentially take input from a variety of input sources simultaneously. For example, our DP4 Till provides a choice of input device - the keyboard or scanner.
To set up input devices (using the DP4 Till as an example) :
From the system setup menu (DFSETUP) choose Printer and device set up... followed by Device Group description...
Select your Device Group (for our example, DDI_TILL) and proceed to Set up device group...
Select the option Input devices. For the DP4 Till supply input device information for input devices 1 and 2 as follows :
Note that if you only intend to use a keyboard as an input device, you do not need to specify any input sources in DFSETUP. Input device 0 is used for keyboard input by default.
