Setting up a QA Build Program

A top-down view of the process of setting up a QA Build program is something like this:

1. Select Edit Programs from the the PROGMAKE Facilities menu and enter the name for the new program as described in Selecting the Program to Work on.

2. When you have answered Yes to the question about Creating a new program to start the process of adding the new program to the database.

3. On the Program Editing Functions menu that appears either:

   • Select the Summary option and create the new program's summary as described in Program Summary
   or:

   • You can also create a new program by using the Copy another Program option. In this case you need to be careful when making changes as you may affect the program copied from.

4. Use the Program Flow Diagram to add a procedure to the Procedure Tree as described in Linking and Inserting Procedures.

5. Add a procedure body for the procedure using the Procedure Body EditingMenu. You will first need to set up the procedure body overview, and usually all of the following:

   • For procedures that use the database set up the table processing for the main table and related or additional tables using the Table Processing menu.
   • Set up processing for the procedures main map using either the Screen Design or, for print procedures, the Form Design dialogs.
   • Set up the field processing.
     
     

Repeat steps 4 and 5 as necessary to add more procedures to your program.
