Field processing

Select this option to set up the processing of the fields in this procedure using the Field Editing screen.

You can process both fields that are on the procedure's map and any other field defined as a local field or a field in the procedure body's tables.

For any field you can

• Assign a value to the field or give it an initial value only if a new record is being created.
• Total the field into another field.

For each field on a map field you can:

• Display the field or ask the user to enter a value for it.
• For an input field validate the entry made by the user.

You can also use field processing to change the contents of database and local fields that are not displayed on a map.

2 Validate fields

Select this option to validate the processing of the fields in this procedure. Do this after making changes to the table processing or to the database.

3 Generate field processing

Select this option to set up field processing automatically, based on the map being used. This is only useful for database procedures. See Automatic Generation of Field Processing for further information and advice about this option.

8 Exit (X)

Select this option to return to the Procedure Body Editing menu.
