Formula editing menu

This menu is used to assign and edit conditions or formuals and appears at every point in the Program Editor where a condition or formula can be used. It contains the following options:

1 Formula/condition number

Select the number of the formula to be used here. By default an unused number is offered. Note that this allows you to re-use the same formula or condition several times in a procedure. Refer to the advice in Sharing Program Components on sharing formulas and conditions to decide how you want to make use of this facility.

2 Delete a formula

Select the number of the formula to be deleted. Caution! Do not delete a formula unless you are certain that it is no longer used by any program or procedure. No warning is given if you delete a formula that is used elsewhere. The Weed Programs facility in QABUTIL can be used to automatically delete formulas and conditions.

3 No condition/formula

Select this option if you do not want to use a condition or formula here.

6 Copy formula...

Select this option if you want a copy a formula used elsewhere. You may copy formulas from any program in the current database. You may assign the copy a new number. The copy is then independent of the original.

7 Edit formula/condition...

Select this option to edit or create the selected formula/condition using either the formula entry or condition entry dialogs.

8 Edit/Continue (X)

Select this option to return to your previous location when you have made the required changes to the formula.
