Maintains era records on the database

DBERA is designed to:

In future, other programs that create export files for transferring source-code or dictionary information (MAPEDIT, COPYDB, REPSETUP, IMPSETUP) may be enhanced in the same way.

Using DBERA

When you run DBERA, you see the following options in the menu bar:

File Specifies the application database you want to use. You are presented with a menu of existing era records; none will exist initially
Insert

Allows you to create a new era record. Having selected this option, a window appears in which you must specify:

  • Your reference

    Enter the name of the era. You can use any characters, but only letters and digits are significant.

  • Internal reference

    This is calculated by the system. It is 1 to start with and then incremented by 1 for each new era.

  • Brief description

    Two lines of text describing the era. (Optionally, you can enter extended documentation - see the Details option)

ViewToggles dispaly being sorted on era name and by era time.
DeleteDeletes the currently highlighted era record
DetailsAllows you to enter more extensive documentation for an era records. This option gives you access to a full screen editor, similar to the DP4ED, with text editing, box drawing and text colouring facilities.
