In the Heading screen, you can enter up to four lines for a heading. Each line is up to 80 characters long. This heading appears at the top of each page of your report. You are also asked for a heading when creating a delete or export program.
This section provides information that helps you to customise the report headings.
The standard headings printed are:
The copyright message. This can be suppressed with the REPPRINT command tail -NOCOPY. It is printed using map 7 of the mapset with the same name as the report. You can modify it using the DP4MAPEDIT utility
The client name, database name, report name, and so on. These can be suppressed by answering 'No' to the appropriate question in the 'Output devices and format' screen. These fields are printed using map 8 of the report's mapset, and can be modified by using the DP4 MAPEDIT utility
Map 8 is overwritten each time the report is edited or tested.
The headings for the fields. To print data in the headings, include extra fields at the start of the report that have blank headings:
Variable fields can be used to provide changing values
Constant fields can be used to provide heading information
If you fold after these fields without listing, they are listed once at the top of every page. In addition, make sure that these fields are listed on break lines, otherwise when a new page is started before a break line, the fields are not printed at the top of that page
Having specified the heading, you are returned to the Report Program Editing menu, where option 3 - Field processing is highlighted. Select this option.
