Prompt and Pasword

If Prompt is disabled, many applications which normally prompt for a user name will not do so, and will use the default user name and password from this dialog. In this case, you must enter a username and password, which will be stored unencrypted in the ODBCINST.INI file or the Windows registry, depending on the version of Windows that is in use. If Prompt is enabled, a password is not supplied here because applications will prompt for the username and password when they first establish a connection with the DP4 data source.

Note that these names and passwords must match those stored on the system database and maintained using MENUEDIT. See Maintaining the User List in the DP4 Developer's Guide. DP4 does not support using Windows usernames and passwords.
