Using a Pivot Table
A pivot table is an interactive table that can summarise large amounts of numerical database data. To create one:
- Select PivotTable from the Excel Data menu. Step 1 of the PivotTable Wizard appears
- In step 1, click External Data Source. Step 2 of the PivotTable Wizard appears
- In step 2, click Get Data to start Microsoft Query from which you can retrieve data from your DP4 data source
- In Microsoft Query, create the necessary query that selects the data you want to use, then select Return Data to Microsoft Excel on the File menu
- Follow the remaining steps in the PivotTable Wizard to finish the creation of your pivot table
