Running DFSETUP to Configure DP4

You run the DFSETUP utility to configure various aspects of DP4 operation such as the location of the different classes of DP4 file, console and transaction logging options, user preferences, printer usage, and support for terminal operation (e.g. in a Telnet session). Assigning Directories

DP4 uses several different file types for which no explicit location is assigned by the Install program. Such files are created in the current or working directory for the program unless you assign an explicit location. Do this as follows:

Start DFSETUP (from the start menu, or a command prompt, or from the DP4 menu)
Select Directory assignment;
The directory assignments are at your discretion, though it is suggested that you keep all files in sub directories of the base directory for your DP4 installation, perhaps like this:

Data,index,rollback and log files in	C:\DP4\DB
Backup files in	C:\DP4\BKP
Spooler files,console log files, and print files in	C:\DP4\PRINT
Work and Extract files in	C:\DP4\TMP
