NetBIOS protocol servers are available for Win32 and Win16 platforms, OS/2,and MS-DOS, as are clients. We last tested the programs for these environments for release 4.520. They are no longer being actively maintained. We recommend using TCP/IP protocol instead wherever possible.
It is possible to use DP4 NetBIOS networking for NetBIOS over TCP/IP. This is not recommended, and can be tricky to set up. We have not succeeded in getting it to run with NetBIOS over IPX/SPX. More details on NetBIOS can be found here.
IPX protocol is supported for IPXMGR.NLM running on Novell 3.x and 4.x. We do not yet support Novell 5, and have not ourselves tested DP4 on it, though it is known to work. We have no plans to support any future release of Novell Netware. The only client actively supported is the Win32 client running on the Novell IPX/SPX protocol. Microsoft IPX compatible protocol is NOT supported. More details on IPX/SPX can be found here.
