Interact with the Itim DP4 Web Site
The DP4 Web Site is now interactive. I shall be posting news about changes to the site regularly on this page, and invite regular users of the site to acquire their own log-in to post their own articles and comments about DP4. You can write documents online. This is similar to editing in a forum or web mail program.
In addition anyone can respond to posts which are open for comments and authors can be notified of responses via e-mail. If you would like to post a comment on an article, click on the "Review" button next to it. You can also give posts a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" rating.
You can also search posts for keywords. The Using this program article gives some simple help.
The web log application (Greymatter 1.3) is very configurable, though to radically change its appearance you will need a knowledge of HTML and CSS. If anyone would like to run their own version of the application for any purpose I will be happy to assist if I can. Greymatter is open source software, and runs on both IIS and Apache web servers with no changes except to a configuration file. There are apparently better programs of this type available. The advantage of this one is that it does not require PHP or MySQL, which are not usually included in a basic web hosting package, and it is completely free.
